Angel Foundation Names Development Officer

MINNEAPOLIS (March 17, 2010)— Angel Foundation named Patricia Schulz as its new development officer on Monday, March 8.

Schulz brings many years of nonprofit development and expertise to Angel Foundation, including her experience as vice president of development at Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the greater Twin Cities area, as well as both major gifts manager and fund development manager at Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity.  She has also served as vice president of resource development and evaluation at Neighborhood House and director of development and communications at Cedar Riverside People’s Center.

“Her vast knowledge and proven success in prospect research, solicitation and stewardship of individual, foundation and corporate donors will assist us in reaching our revenue goals and long term growth expectations,” says Marsha Lietz, executive director of Angel Foundation.

Schulz is eager to work towards expanding Angel Foundation’s network of supporters so that more families can receive assistance. “The mission of Angel Foundation is truly inspiring.  I look forward to working with others who are passionate about helping families as they face the challenges that cancer treatment imposes upon them,” says Schulz.

Margie Sborov, founder of Angel Foundation, is also excited about what Schulz brings to the Angel team. “With the addition of a development officer, we will be able to expand our circle of supporters in the community as well as increase awareness of our efforts to help adult cancer patients when cancer strikes,” says Sborov.

Angel Foundation provides emergency financial assistance to adult cancer patients in the seven-county metro area of the Twin Cities to meet critical nonmedical needs such as mortgage or rent payments, food, utilities and transportation costs. This support helps reduce the stress of lifestyle changes in order to retain dignity and quality of life. Angel Foundation also offers free education and support through its Facing Cancer Together programs to families who have a parent with cancer.
