Cancer patients receive a helping hand with basic house cleaning needs
MINNEAPOLIS (March 4, 2010) -- When cancer strikes, keeping up with everyday tasks such as house cleaning can often be overwhelming and even physically impossible. But now cancer patients can receive a helping hand from the organic cleaning company Green Darlene Inc., which recently formed a partnership with Angel Foundation to create Angel Clean.
Angel Clean will be available to cancer patients living in the seven-county metro area who are currently undergoing treatment and need additional assistance cleaning their home. Eligible requests include basic cleaning needs such as bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, living rooms, dining areas, front entries, and floors.
David and Cindy Bearman, founders of Green Darlene, understand the challenges that arise when cancer strikes full force. After being diagnosed with breast cancerin 1999 and undergoing extensive treatment, Cindy found that she had very little energy to do anything. She also experienced extreme sensitvity to odors from cleaning products, as many cancer patients experience after undergoing treatment. After some research, the couple discovered the toxicity of the chemicals found in cleaning products and decided to make the switch to using only organic cleaning products.
Cindy, whose cancer is now in remission, is excited to offer assistance to others who are traveling the same difficult road she once traveled.
"I know from experience how much better one can feel by having a clean house...it is one less thing to worry about. You have a limited supply of energy while undergoing chemo; if we can free the patient up from one chore it will give them more time to concentrate on getting better," Cindy says.
