Lora's Story
We are so grateful that Lora shared her story about the financial and emotional impact that cancer has on an individual and their loved ones. We were sorry to learn of her passing on September 4 and offer our condolences to Lora's family and friends.
Through our Financial Assistance program, a qualified applicant can receive support in the amount of $500. To many of us, this hardly seems enough to make a difference. But Lora, a Financial Assistance recipient, recently said, “Five hundred dollars is a lot of money when you don’t
have it.”
Lora retired a few years early thinking that she would be able to spend more time with her family and enjoy life. However, shortly after retiring she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Her world was turned upside down and within a very short period of time she found herself struggling to make ends meet.
