Kelly and Marcia
Kelly Grosklags, Angel Foundation board member, has continually made a difference in the lives of those facing cancer by selling Just Cause Jewelry items on a regular basis to benefit Angel Foundation.
Kelly and her friend Marcia Johnson created Just Cause Jewelry in 2006 as a fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure® benefit walk, and with the success of the sales, they knew it was something they needed to try for Angel Foundation.
“We had hoped we could make a $1,000 for Angel Foundation in one year,” Kelly says. “I am proud to say that our first year we donated over $12,000.”
Just Cause jewelry pieces are typically made with a combination of semi-precious stones, sterling silver and Swarovski crystals, and each is handcrafted with the intention of giving hope, healing and encouragement. Just Cause has also expanded their products to include luxury gifts like beaded wine stoppers, appetizer knives, letter openers, pens, and key chains.
"It is not a money-maker for us in any way," Kelly says, "but we are richer for having the experience of donating and providing many families a night at Valleyfair, an experience at Kids Kamp, or a home payment."
Not only have Kelly and Marcia felt the satisfication of donating for a good cause, their buyers experience it as well. "People wear [our jewelry] with pride knowing it contributed to the betterment of family life.”
