Welcome to the Angel Blog!

Welcome to the Angel Blog!

We are very excited to introduce you to this blog – we hope to use this space as the beginning of an ongoing, weekly conversation with the community about the cancer experience, and about the work we are doing with families facing cancer. Our goal is to engage with the community to discuss, to report, and to reflect on the issues both within our organization and the wider cancer community.

Recently, a Star Tribune article mentioned Angel Foundation in a story about the financial struggle inherent in health crises like cancer. We took that opportunity to respond via a letter to the editor to help spread the word about the widespread challenges facing Twin Cities cancer patients and their families. It is these types of two-way exchanges that will strengthen awareness, and that illustrate the increasing need for communication on all sides.

The Angel Blog will not only chronicle Angel Foundation news and events, but it will touch on issues of wider significance and how they impact our activities and the people we serve. We will also profile and present Twin Cities organizations and individuals who are doing amazing things in the cancer community.

We also hope to bring in many voices to contribute to this discussion. The Angel Blog will include thoughts from volunteers and patients, oncologists and others. And most importantly, we hope that you will join us. By responding in the comments section below, you can take part in the discussion as well.

To meet the growing, unmet needs of Twin Cities cancer patients, it will take the ideas and input from across the community. This blog is simply another way for us to reach that goal. Once again, welcome to the discussion.
