Meet Suzie McKenzie

We are excited to have Suzie McKenzie join our staff as one of the Education Program Coordinators of our Facing Cancer Together (FaCT) program.  Suzie is a licensed Spanish teacher and is currently teaching at Simley High School in Inver Grove Heights.  Her family’s cancer experience is what brought her to Facing Cancer Together as a volunteer almost seven years ago.  Since losing her mom to breast cancer, Suzie has been dedicated to this program using her personal experience and research in the area of cancer to help children and adolescents cope with their family’s cancer journey. Suzie recently received her Masters in Teaching and was able to focus her Capstone paper on researching beneficial resources for adolescents who have a parent with cancer.  Suzie will be helping us with our FaCT program for teens and will also be facilitate programs for our Hispanic community initiative.
